Well, I have got to say that I liked last years Fanime than this years. I think that what brought me down the most were my results from my table at Artist Alley. What sold the most was mostly the buttons. I didnt sell any of the bookmarks, maybe because Ouran popularity went down, Hikaru dyed his hair ash brown and all. Plus there were pixelation problems with the bookmarks. I managed to sell five of my Suki prints and one of my original works. The NaruSaku and HikaHaru prints did not sell at all. One of my roommates mentions that if I did NaruSasu, it would sell well.
Sorry guys, I hate to say this but I'm not a fan of yaoi, yuri, slash, twincest, incest, period. :/
Friday, after I moved most of my stuff from my dorm, my mom and I went to the Fairmont Hotel to get prepared for Fanime. I saw a LOT of Vampire Knight day class/night class uniforms. There good cosplays and a couple of bad ones. At artists alley, I checked in, got my artists sticker and met some old and new faces. The hotel was nice at a discount! I tried to make some coffee and after two attempts, I made one successful cup, but I had to add three creams, five packets of sugar just make it taste good.
Peggy Sues during breakfast wasnt PACKED for the weekend whenever I get my breakfast or dinner, maybe its because I get up at seven in the morning and everyone is still asleep. XD
Saturday, I wore the cosplay and I was really embarrassed because the commissioner forgot to add the sleeves on the captains haori coat. Plus, I had some wig issues, and it got tangled. >_<
I had one random nerd came up to me and ask who I was supposed to be. I did not feel like explaining my cosplay problems to the nerd. Someone cosplayed as Snake surprised me and I had my umbrella instead of a zanpakuto since the weather report stated that there was going to rain that day.
I was at the Bleach gathering trying to take some photos and I kept getting bumped into the way by the photographers every time the group changed. After they did the Urahara shop people, I went back to my table, there was some rude people in that gathering and couldnt get the photos that I wanted. I really wanted to get a Unohana and Ukitake cosplayer together for an Ukihana shot.
The Sailor Moon and Shounen Jump gatherings on Sunday was MUCH polite than the Bleach gathering. I was shouting Yugioh Abridged references and went I was taking photos of the Yugioh group. There was a Bandit Keith! I was glad to see a Bandit Keith cosplayer .in America! XD
I was sharing my table with one of the deviants,
I saw my friend and her sisters on Sunday and their costumes were amazing! Better than mine. They were going to bring more people for a Avatar cosplay group next year, I told them to please include me in there as well, and I need to get more items for the Nanao cosplay since its pretty much the same outfit and I need to make myself an zanpakuto or use one of my books as a prop. I want to give the Unohana cosplay another shot, I just need to either buy the haori or have someone sew in the sleeves and get other stuff.
At the same time as the Sailor Moon gathering, I was surprised to see Princess Tutu cosplayers that were really good.
Monday, I decided to give my cosplay another try since most of the Bleachards left. I got some shots from the Ouran gathering and got a shot of Seki Twins from Rosen Maiden. More shots of and her sisters then we decided to go on our separate ways. I try to get some sells and only sold one button since my mom kept calling me to meet her at the hotel. So I pick up some of my commissions and jetted out of the convention. I had to get the rest of my stuff from my dorm and check out. I got home around four.
I was glad to meet
I was sad to hear that
I also got to meet someone who was starting a manga publishing company, they going get nine artists including
Next year, Im going practice watercolor and do more traditional works since I decided to do commissions. Its going to be chibis though. New prints will be available upon request, old prints and merchandise will be there as well. ^^

But yeah, sadly, if you want to do well in the AA, other than the obvious "be superduper amazingly talented with art" you either have to do lots of yaoi stuff to attract the huge yaoi fanbase and/or lots of...um....skimpily dressed women to attract the uh.....perverts. Yeah. Pretty much. I get by because I sort of just bypass all the art and yaoi/het/whatever stuff by just making unrelated cute things. But even still, the fanime AA sales were pretty slow for me. I'm not a fan of yaoi/yuri etc either, but in the AA it's sort of the thing where you either do it to make money or you try to hold on to your personal artistic integrity etc. It's really an individualistic choice on where to draw the line. But you could try to get around it by just drawing popular characters that tend to get slashed together, but separately, like in individual chibis or something. If people like the pairing, they will usually just buy both of them.
I hope you enjoyed the other aspects of the con at least, and you were really really nice, not rude at all!!! Please don't think that you were. I hope the next event will be much more enjoyable to you too. It was nice meeting you, and hopefully I'll get to see you around at future conventions ^^

Commissions @ ~Shuura.
If was going to do commissions or more prints, it has to be SUPER good or I have to draw the characters chibi which I don't mind. I was planning on doing chibi commissions since those sell well, and I gotten some advice on other stuff I should do like stickers or key chains (I had in mind of doing a Naruto chibi set, but school ate up my time, at least I got time this summer and winter to do a couple designs). As for prints, I'm just bringing some of the old stuff that sold the most, and new stuff based upon votes and request, I need to print at least ten copies of the print and see what happens.
Sunday has got to be the best for me since I managed to get most of photos at the Sailor Moon Gathering and the Shounen Jump gathering and my friends from school came to visit me. I didn't get as much photos at the Bleach gathering since I kept getting bumped and pushed by people, I had to leave early.
It was really nice meeting you, I already signed up for a table for next Fanime (I'm hoping for a better location) and I'm trying to go to Sac-Anime.
